December 17, 2009
(the day after)

Dear Friends,

      THANK YOU!!!

Merry Charity 2009 was an enormous success, and it was your willingness to give that made it all possible!  Our friends at the Guardian Ad Litem program, the Sanctuary on 8th Street and the Sulzbacher Center were delighted by the abundance of kindness shown by YOU!

With 150 participants and over 2000 donations, we have truly made a collaborative charitable impact on our community.

On December 16, 2009, no one talked about the recession.

Guests were not worried about the pile of work on their desks.

There were no frowns to be found.

No one showed up empty-handed.

People came together in the spirit of charity and donated what they could spare and what they could share.

Some donated dolls, while others brought printer paper.  Guests brought new and used toys, games, books and cleaning supplies.  The gifts ranged from craft paint to spaghetti sauce!  Creativity was overflowing with hand-made girls' hair bows and beautiful raffle baskets.  From bikes to trains to video games, it was the most charitable event in  town!  Checks were being written, gift cards were distributed and people's cars took 3- 5 trips to unload all of the donations.

The outpouring of generosity, beautiful atmosphere and friends in ugly holiday sweaters made it the Merriest Night in Jacksonville!

In February of 2010, we are going to begin planning the next event.  Why?  Because we know we can do more!    We have proven that our community's professionals can come together and make a SERIOUS difference!

As you could see from 2009's event, there are more chances to win by building a team!  So, start forming yours today!  "Team Awesome" will be the reigning Merry Charity Champions... can you beat them in 2010?  To get involved with the next Merry Charity event,  click here to e-mail me.

In addition to touching my heart, your generosity touched the lives of our community's less fortunate.  I'll see you back at Merry Charity 2010...  I can't wait!

Sincerely,

Maggie Jo
